Welle Digital Urban Management - Urban Flood Warning System

1.Proposal Overview:

As a subsystem of the digital urban management system, the urban flood warning system can monitor in real time the water levels of accumulated water in low-lying road sections and river water levels at key river reaches within the urban area, and issue automatic warnings.

With the assistance of this system, municipal administrative departments can comprehensively grasp the waterlogging conditions in the urban area and promptly conduct drainage scheduling.

The traffic management department can utilize this system to keep real-time track of the waterlogging conditions in low-lying road sections and provide the public with travel guidance through various channels such as radio, television, SMS, and WeChat, thereby preventing personnel and vehicles from inadvertently entering deeply flooded road sections and incurring significant losses.




2.Composition Description:

Water Level Sensors

The monitoring of accumulated water in tunnels and low-lying road sections poses a challenge in this project. The client has the following concerns regarding sensor selection:

(1)For contact-type pressure water level gauges or electronic water level rulers, there are worries about potential blockages and corrosion, which could lead to substantial maintenance requirements in the later stages.

(2)For non-contact-type radar or ultrasonic water level gauges, there are concerns about interference from passing vehicles after installation, potentially causing false alarms.

To address these concerns of the client, we have adopted radar electronic water level rulers with built-in guide wave rods, effectively avoiding the aforementioned issues and alleviating the client's worries.
For river water level monitoring points, we utilize ultrasonic water level gauges known for their stable performance and cost-effectiveness.

 Remote Monitoring Equipment
The waterlogging monitoring terminals and water level monitoring terminals are installed using wall-mounted or pole-mounted methods and are powered by the municipal electricity grid.
The core RTU products integrated within the waterlogging monitoring terminals and water level monitoring terminals are all low-power measurement and control terminals, DATA-6301. These terminals only supply power to the radar electronic water level rulers or ultrasonic water level gauges during the instant of water level data collection, enabling low-power operation of the entire equipment system. For monitoring sites with long power supply distances or inconvenient wiring, a rapid switch to solar power supply mode is feasible.

 Early Warning Monitoring Center Software
The urban flood warning and monitoring software adopts a B/S (Browser/Server) structural design, supporting remote access via computers and mobile APPs. It seamlessly integrates with the digital urban management monitoring platform through OPC interfaces or by opening the database.
